     The police blotter is updated as often as possible.  It primarily lists arrests that have been made.  It may also give you insight into the types of investigations we handle, and calls for service we receive.  Incidents listed in the blotter represent only a small percentage of the Moonachie Police Department's daily operations.

INCIDENT/CHARGE: DWI ARREST

December 4, 2008:  Konstantin Tarkovsky of Brooklyn, NY was arrested for DWI. Tarkovsky was involved in a three vehicle crash on Rt 46 in Teterboro, NJ. Officers McNeice and Bussanich investigated the traffic accident that Mr. Tarkovsky was involved in. Mr. Tarkovsky was issued three motor vehicle summonses.

INCIDENT/CHARGGE: WARRANT ARREST

December 30, 2008:  Daniel Muniz of Jersey City, NJ was arrested by Officer Ricardo. Mr. Muniz had a suspended drivers license. A check of Mr. Muniz showed existing warrants from two municipal courts. The North Brunswick Municipal Court had a warrant outstanding on Muniz in the amount of $1000.00. The Old Bridge Municipal Court had an outstanding warrant on Muniz for $145.00.  The bail was posted by a relative and the accused was released on that bond.


There were five people arrested in conjunction with domestic violence cases in the month of December.

The Moonachie Police, are reminding homeowners to secure their homes, and keep exterior lights on, as well as interior lights when not at home. Residents are asked to be aware of any suspicious people or vehicles in the area. Please call the Moonachie Police if you feel that something suspicious is occurring. This includes taking in newspapers, garbage cans and mail.
