Secure A Child and Senior Identification Card Programs

Secure a Child / Secure a Senior
Identification Card Programs

The Secure A Child and Secure A Senior Identification Card Programs continue to provide piece of mind to participants. The programs are simple and effective.  Our communities children, their parents and guardians, and our communities senior citizens can feel safer knowing that in the event of an emergency the Moonachie Police and Emergency Medical Personnel are prepared to provide a quick, informed response to those in need.  If you are new to Moonachie or have never participated in either of these programs, both are described below.

Secure A Child Identification Cards

The Moonachie Police Department knows that the parents and guardians of our communities children do their very best to keep their children safe.  Safety education is extremely important,  and tips such as not accepting rides from strangers, to walking in groups when it is dark outside must be taught.  The Moonachie Police Department and participants in the Secure-A-Child program can feel even safer knowing that in the unfortunate event that a child does get lost, we are prepared to respond quickly to bring them home.

This program saves valuable time and energy when it is most important.  A recent photograph and identification information, as seen above, are available to the Police Department at the click of a button.  This information can then quickly be disseminated to members of our community and surrounding communities through use of the media, as well as other law enforcement agencies.  One card for each child is FREE.  Parents and guardians are urged to keep each card in a safe place where it can quickly be located in the event of an emergency.  Although not listed on the card, if needed, emergency contacts are on file at the police department.

Secure A Senior Identification Cards

Senior Identification cards provide an additional form of identification for our communities senior citizens.  The Medical Alert / Medication information on each card can be very important for quick, informed response to medical emergencies.  Although not listed on the card, if needed, emergency contacts are on file at the police department.  One card for each participant is FREE.  Senior Citizens are encouraged to keep this card in a safe place where it can easily be located.  Many participants ask for a second identification card that they keep on them at all times.

We encourage all of our children and seniors to participate in these programs.  If you have any questions, please call, email, or visit headquarters.   Ask for P.O. R. Bauer or P.O. J. Napolitano.
